Eligibility for severance pay based on the period of retirement (for employees transferring to a corporation under the same representative)
After joining a startup last November, the market situation wasn't very good, so I transferred to another corporation under the same representative. There was no resignation, but I submitted an additional copy of my resume and rewrote the employment contract.
I worked at the startup for 2 months last year - I've been working for this company since January of this year, and the startup has kept its business registration, but it doesn't have any employees.
I'm preparing to change jobs, and I'm planning to resign between September and November. I'm wondering if I can receive severance pay if I resign in November.
It's not a huge amount of money, about a month's salary for a new employee, but the Chuseok bonus at the end of September is included in the annual salary at the current company, so if I can receive severance pay, it's about 10% more than my salary.
If I can receive severance pay, I'd also appreciate it if you could tell me how to handle it if the company tries not to give it.
